Revivim Shikhon Dan
Background on the neighborhood:
Shikun Dan(נווה דן) נוסדה בשנת 1940 ע”י חברי קואופרטיב “דן” (בהיווסדה: קואופרטיב “יד המעביר”). In 1933 נרכשו קרקעות השכונה מידיו של השבט הבדואי אבו-קישק באמצעות מתווכי הקרקעות האחים טייבר. ב-1945 התאחדו קואופרטיב “יד המעביר” וחברת “איחוד רגב” לקואופרטיב “דן” והקימו מוסך אוטובוסים גדול בקצה השכונה, סמוך לאתר “עשר טחנות” שעל גדות נחל הירקון. בתחילה הייתה השכונה מרוחקת מאוד מתל-אביב, ועל כן נוהלה עד סוף שנות החמישים בידי הוועדה המחוזית לתכנון ולבנייה (אז כונתה בשם “הועדה הגלילית”), הכפופה למשרד הפנים. ב-1957 פורקה אגודת “יד המעביר”, וקרקעות האגודה חולקו בין חברי הקואופרטיב והועברו על שמם בטאבו.
עם התפשטותה של תל-אביב והקמתן של שכונות עבר הירקון בסוף שנות ה-60, הואץ קצב הפיתוח של השכונה. מרבית הבתים שנבנו בשכונה היו בניינים נמוכים ובתים צמודי קרקע. אופי הבנייה תאם את סגנון הבנייה בשכונות הצמודות לשיכון דן, צהלה ורמת החי”ל, שהתפתחו אף הן בתקופה זו. במקביל, הוקמו בשכונה בית הספר התיכון עירוני י”ד, שבט הצופים “דן” ומוסדות קהילתיים נוספים. שיכון דן גדל והתפתח גם מעבר לרחוב פנחס רוזן, סמוך להדר יוסף, אזור זה נקרא‘שיכון דן המערבי’; The nature of the houses and the size of the land is similar.
